Smaily Campaign Intelligence — user guide

Smaily Campaign Intelligence writes personalised product recommendations onto every one of your Smaily contacts and learns from every open, click and purchase. This guide explains how the system works, what the console views show, and — most importantly — how to interpret the metrics correctly.

How the data flows

  1. Your store (WooCommerce/Shopify plugin or Make) sends orders, catalog and customers to the engine.
  2. The engine computes each customer's top 9 product picks and analytics signals every night (segment, engagement state, replenishment prediction).
  3. Smaily contact fields receive the results — your templates and automations use them like any merge field.
  4. Feedback (opens, clicks, purchases) flows back and the engine re-weights itself nightly.

Where to start

  • Metrics glossary — what each number means and the common ways to misread them. If you read only one chapter, read this one.
  • Console views — Home, Insights, Audience, Settings and what to use each for.
  • Smaily templates and fields — every rec_ field, the correct link pattern, automation recipes, and engine-run automations.
  • Trigger manual — the exact firing condition, thresholds and cooldowns for every engine and automation trigger.
  • FAQ and troubleshooting — quick answers to frequent questions.

Honest measurement. We deliberately keep part of your audience on generic content (the holdout group) so the uplift we show is revenue the engine actually created — not clicks it merely took credit for. That is why some numbers start with wide confidence intervals, and why we do not report a lift figure before the sample is sufficient.
